Citizenship Processes
We provide strategic consulting, document optimization and process tracking for citizenship applications across the Balkans, primarily North Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Kosovo. Our services aim to inform applicants and guide them to the correct procedures; official matters are carried out diligently in coordination with the relevant state institutions and our accredited expert solution partners.
How the process works
- 01Strategic assessment: your descent, investment or current status is reviewed and an eligibility analysis is run against the target country's current legislation.
- 02Application roadmap and planning: the most suitable application channel is identified; the official steps and specific document list are mapped out.
- 03Document management: professional guidance for gathering documents to official standards and completing apostille, translation and certification.
- 04Coordination, application and tracking: your file is officially processed via the authorities and our solution partners, with every stage closely followed and regularly reported.
Documents usually required
- Identity & travel documents: internationally valid passport and national ID documents
- Civil status documents: international birth record (Formula A), marriage certificate or civil status documents
- Official registry records: criminal record archive and clean record certificates
- Legislation-dependent extras: family tree (name equivalence), property or financial-capacity indicators
- Note: additional supporting documents may be requested depending on the application type (descent, marriage, investment).
Estimated timeline
The completion time for citizenship processes varies with the target country's bureaucratic load, application type and legislative changes. After the initial assessment meeting we share a realistic, transparent time projection based on your file.
Frequently asked
Do you guarantee citizenship?+
Under international law and the customary practice of states, the decision to grant citizenship lies entirely within the sovereign authority of the state concerned; no institution can 'guarantee citizenship.' At Veranova Balkans we provide corporate process assurance: error-free preparation of your file, full compliance with the country's current legislation (ancestry, immigration laws, investment criteria, etc.) and professional follow-up before the competent authorities. Our goal is to minimize rejection risks arising from bureaucratic errors and maximize your chances of a positive outcome.
Is dual citizenship possible?+
Yes, it is. Many Balkan countries, primarily North Macedonia, recognize the right to dual or multiple citizenship in their citizenship legislation. For applications via ancestry, marriage, investment or special status, you generally do not need to renounce your existing citizenship. However, you must follow the dual-citizenship notification procedures of the other country you are bound to (e.g. the Republic of Türkiye). Our team plans the transition in line with both countries' legislation on your behalf.
